Those interested in serving on the Newark City Schools Board of Education should submit a notice of their interest, in writing, to district treasurer Julio Valladares and Board President Cindy Neely before the end of the business day on January 17. NHS drama will perform the play at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, and 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, in the Lawrence E. Griffin Performing Arts Center at Newark High School. Newark City Schools celebrates 30 students every month who are recognized for doing the right thing. The students and their families are honored during a luncheon that is sponsored by a local business and features entertainment from a group within the district.
