Newark City Schools celebrates 31 students every month who are recognized for doing the right thing. The students and their families are honored during a luncheon that is sponsored by a local business and features entertainment from a group within the district. The School Calendars for the 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 school years have been approved. Please see the links below for the calendars. In 2026, school will begin on Aug. 20; the first day in 2027 is on Aug. 19.
